Dear Alabama Pediatrics Families,
For the past 42 years, I have been fortunate to practice Pediatrics here in my hometown of Birmingham. After such a fulfilling career, it is time for me to retire so my wife, Faye, and I can spend more time with family and friends, travel, and do all the things we love to do.
I feel confident that you will continue to be in good hands at Alabama Pediatrics. We are pleased to have our newest physician, Dr. Heath Pelham, join our practice as of July 1st. Dr. Pelham grew up within walking distance of our office and has had outstanding training. I hope to introduce many of you to him over the next two months until I leave active practice on September 1st. I do plan to stay involved in an advisory capacity after that time.
I have been involved with some of your families since 1979, and my greatest pleasure has been to watch your children and now grandchildren grow. It is those ongoing relationships that have made the practice of medicine a pure joy for me. It is a rare day that I go anywhere in Birmingham without seeing someone from the practice which gives me such great pleasure. Some of you are newer to our Alabama Pediatrics family, and I regret that I will not have that same long-term relationship with you; however, I strongly believe that you will receive excellent care with my friends and colleagues, Doctors Keith Stansell, Amy Albert, Mary Evelyn O'Neil, and now Heath Pelham.
I thank you for trusting me with the health and welfare of your children. Many of you have come to our practice from outlying communities such as Cullman, Sylacauga, Anniston, and Tuscaloosa to name a few. Others who live in the Homewood neighborhood walk down Bonita Drive to our office. No matter how far you travel, we do not take your efforts in getting to us for granted. We have always tried to be available to see your children whenever needed, and that tradition will continue.
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you and your families. Once again, I thank you for that opportunity.
Robert Aland Levin, MD
